EC’s Jig-N-Pig

For decades countless numbers of huge Smallmouth and Largemouth bass have been taken on the famous Jig & Pig Lure used by the gear guys. Here is my fly version of this deadly jig. It's tied on a very stout Ahrex 26 degree bent streamer hook, with medium dumbbell eyes. The pinchers are made from Kiley's Exo skin and the dubbed body has several small lively rubber legs, plus several more longer rubber legs that make up the skirt of the fly. This fly imitates a large fleeing crawdad perfectly! This fly will be particularly deadly in early Spring, Fall and Winter when the water temps are cooler. Again, my favorite claw color is the Frog Skin colored claw, where the top of the claw is mottled brown, Olive and Chartreuse and the bottom of the claw is yellow. The black/blue and the Rust/Olive claw are great late Fall/ Winter colors. Grab a few for your fly box!
